Girls get their own Rooms!

The girls have gotten their own rooms! Abby has been asking for her own room for a while now, and we were able to make it a reality. We moved the guest bed into their old bedroom for Amelia, bunked the beds in the old guest bedroom for Abby and just switched some other furniture around. It looks amazing. And don't worry guests - when you come to visit, we will have Amelia move into Abby's room, and you will be able to stay in Amelia's room.

CHRISTMAS!

Christmas 2010 was a great one! We got back from Maryland already having finished most of the preparations for the big day. On Christmas Eve we went to the 3pm mass that had a children's theme. First was the pagent that lasted about 45 minutes, and then it went straight into the mass which lasted the normal hour. My friend and I got there at 1:45 and were able to score 3rd row seats. Woo-hoo. Then the friends came over after mass for a nice Christmas Eve dinner. It was a wonderful time. Their kids and our kids are the same age and are really good friends.

Christmas morning I was the one who was up at 5 am! I managed to go back to sleep (kind of) until 7 when the kids woke up. It was a great day. We had opened all of the presents by about 8, had cinnamon rolls, and were already playing with all of our goodies! The house looked like a tornado for two days!

Making Squats

Picking out the Christmas tree (funny story - it ended up being waaaaay to small for the main Christmas tree, so we put it in the family room, and went and bought a tree from Lowes for the Living Room. This tree - still going strong and beautiful, tree from Lowes, not so much.)

WELCOME SANTA - last night of the Elves!

The rest of break so far has been mighty relaxing. We are thinking about changing the rooms around upstairs, so the rest of the week might not be as relaxing, but hopefully more Epic Mickey, Rockband, Just Dance, and all that other good stuff is in our future too!

Maryland

We went to Maryland for my niece (and goddaughter) Natalya's baptism and to celebrate Christmas with my side of the family. We got in on Thursday night, Friday we had "Christmas" and went and got photos taken. Saturday we went to DC with Lisa, Ben, Mom, and the four of us. We went to two Smithsonian museums and then hung out at the Flores household. On Sunday was the baptism. On Monday Mom, and the girls and I went shopping, that night we all went to Brookside gardens to look at the lights and Tuesday we came home. In between was lots of game playing (you have got to try Bezzerwizzer and Pit) and Wii and laughing. Here are a couple of photos that we took - more will be posted on Facebook, I am sure.

Elf on the Shelf

We have two very naughty elves on the shelves in our house. One is named Angelina and one is named Emma. Every night instead of just being in a different place in the house, we usually catch them doing very naughty things. We have found them toilet papering the house, trying to put up Christmas lights, playing wii, making hot chocolate, playing different games, etc. Here are two pictures of their escapades.

The girls are loving this new tradition in our house. I just hope they can find enough things to do for the next ten nights.

New Blog - Let's give this a shot

So, last year I started marthachinnock. com and it was time to renew my domain name/hosting/etc. Not so interested in paying for another year, I am opting to go with this for the time being. Lots of my friends blog on blogger, so I am interested in trying it. Plus I am super stoked to get to try cutestblogontheblock for my background. FREE and Cool backgrounds. Sounds good to me.
