CITY FINALISTS

Amelia's basketball team the Court Angels made it to the City CYO Championship Game for the second year in a row!

A recap of the game - The opposing Stingrays score 2-0, Stingrays get one of their free throws, 3-0, one of our players Marley scores, 3-2, with a few minutes to go Isabelle scores, 4-3 Angels up by 1, DEFENSE!!!, stingrays score with a minute to go, 5-4. Court Angels lose but are the official City Runner-Ups! What a great season, only two losses.

Amelia got her ears pierced!

So, every few weeks I ask the girls if they want their ears pierced. As a mom with 9 piercings, I really have encouraged them to get their own ears pierced. To my surprise around Christmastime Amelia said she wanted them done. We were in the middle of basketball season, so we said we would get them done with the season was over. The season ended yesterday, so today we went to Claires. She was brave. She held Rob and my hands and flinched a little, but she did not cry. And after it was all over she said it did not really hurt at all. Abby is still not interested one bit.

Sicky Mel

We've had a whole lot of this going on since Friday night....

That is right - a very sick Amelia on the couch. I had the bug for about 36 hours. Amelia is onto her fourth day tomorrow (Friday night, all day Saturday, all day Sunday.) Hopefully tomorrow is the turning point - she has plans and we want her to be better.

PS - Every time. I mean Every.Time. I write couch I write COACH first. Le Sigh.

First Reconciliation

Amelia celebrated her first Reconciliation on February 7th. It was done at our church with a prayer service beforehand and then they had about 12 priests there to hear the second graders confessions, plus parents and siblings could go to confession too. Amelia was nervous, and then excited. She really had a positive experience overall and we went out to ice cream to celebrate afterwards with our friends!

Wildlife Ranch

We went with Vicki and Edd to the Wildlife Ranch that is just up the road from us. Everyone enjoyed the animals on the safari. When the safari was over, the girls and Rob and Edd and Vicki all went to the petting zoo and they even got to see a baby giraffe! I sat in the car because I was car sick from the safari.

Valentine's Day Gala

The youth at our church who are going to World Youth Day this summer to meet the pope threw a gala on February 12 as a fundraiser. Since Rob's parents were here visiting too, we all decided to go. It was really an extraordinary time. It was amazing to see so many people from the church there supporting the youth, getting dressed up, and having fun dancing. Dinner was delicious, and I think we will go again if they have another one next year.
